The text was published in Ha-Zamir (Odessa, 1903: pp. 27-29), with instructions that Idelsohn omitted in Sefer Ha-Shirim. Each soloist introduces a musical instrument and the choir answers, imitating the sounds of each instrument: "zim-zum", din-din"; "zurum- burum", "tra-ra-ra"; "bum-bam" "tsil-tsel". The instruments include the violin, harp, pandora (lute), trumpet, drum, and cymbals.

The melody, whose source is unidentified, is in F minor. The chorus is in F major.
